The controversy surrounding the audio clip of how soldiers allegedly rigged the June 21 governorship election in favour of Governor Ayodele Fayose is taking a new dimension as the All Progressives Congress (APC) has petitioned the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Mohammed Adoke.
Also petitioned were the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The party is asking for investigation and speedy prosecution of those allegedly indicted in the electoral heist.
In another development, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Taiwo Olatubosun, has petitioned the Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu, over an alleged threat to his life by some members of the ruling party.
The petition, signed by the State Chairman of the party, Chief Olajide Awe, and dated February 13, 2015, APC called the recipients’ attentions to an audio recording by Captain Sagir Koli of the 32 Artillery Brigade based in Akure.
He said the clip allegedly captured “the voices of Governor Ayo Fayose, the Commanding Officer of 32 Artillery Brigade, Brig-General Aliyu Momoh; Senator Iyiola Omisore, Police Affairs Minister, Jelili Adesiyan; former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro and others in a meeting where they strategized to rig the June 21, 2014 governorship election in favour of Fayose”.
